Hello, my name is Lily, and I am currently doing my work experience. I am a year 10 student at oakwood school, and am currently studying for my GCSE exams and mocks.
Whilst at school, I have chosen to take; Computer Science, Geography and History, as well as my core subjects which were not optional. So far Geography has been my strongest subject as I enjoy it and find it makes sense as it is about the current world.
My work experience is with my dad, he works with building websites, as I study Computer Science it seems like a sensible choice for me to take. The office I must travel to is relativley close to where I live (approx 30 minutes) and has a farm close by to it.
I am doing this work experience in order to understand how an office environment works, and to understand what to expect when I eventually work in similar conditions. I want to learn the challenging aspects to an office job and what positive things are included with it.
For my work experience, one of my tasks is to create a website to blog what i have done and how i have created it, this will allow me to understand the basics of creating a website and how to design it.
Whilst I am here, I will identify skills employers look for when looking for potential employees, and hopefully improve my own skills, such as communication.
